What do you love about working at MRVH?
*I love the team we have at MRVH, how each individual is passionate about the field of veterinary medicine and animals. I love connecting with clients who have been with the practise for a long time. The standard of medicine, excellent patient care is what keeps me here.

What is one work skill you are very proud of?
*Being able to perform anesthesia effectively. The concept of being able to safely take a patient from consciousness to unconsciousness and back is remarkable. I don’t know if it’s a skill, but I’ve learned that some people are uncomfortable in a euthanasia setting. While I don’t necessarily enjoy it, I regard it as such a sacred place and feel that when I enter into that space, I am comfortable and feel that I’m able to honour the client and their beloved pet and the relationship that is represented.

What’s the most inspiring part of your job?
*I’m inspired by watching and listening to how the veterinarians work with each other, especially on challenging cases. Hearing how they banter back and forth about solutions and observations and possibilities. Super interesting. I’m inspired by people who continually seek to learn more and more.

What’s your favourite treat?
*Pedicures. Chocolate. I’m a hot chocolate addict.

If there is one charity you want everyone to know about, what is it and why?
*Katie’s Place is a cat shelter that treats each of their charges with great care and attention. They value each life and are staffed by so many skilled volunteers and their costs are high. I agree with their philosophy of giving every kitty a chance.

What advice would you give someone who wants to join our team?
*Eat your Wheaties!
